In the summers of 2010 and 2011, we collaborated with Atlanta Public Schools and the Woodruff Arts Center to offer a summer camp for middle school students built around UrbanRemix. Students captured sounds from the neighborhoods around the Woodruff Arts Center, remixed them using the UrbanRemix map-based tool, learned to use multi-track digital audio workstation software and VJ software, and created live performances and/or fixed-media compositions remixing the sounds and images they had collected.
